When you are developing a website, probably you do not want to make it indexed by Google. You can make your site hidden for Google this way:

1. Visit Settings > Reading

2. Check the box "Discourage search engines from indexing this site" and save:

If your website was found in the past by Google, it will need few days to "forget it"
